General Motors said its all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala will offer a new feature called “valet mode.” It allows the vehicle’s owner to add a password that prohibits access to the vehicle’s MyLink system and access to a hidden storage bin behind a retractable faceplate on the center stack.
The automaker said the bin is large enough to hold a wallet, smartphone, an MP3 player, and other personal devices. For MyLink, addresses and contacts stored on the system are also protected by the password. For fleets, company drivers could use this feature to secure personal items or information on the MyLink system.
The 2014-MY Chevrolet Impala goes into production this spring and will offer three engine choices. You can read more about the vehicle’s features here.
