GOLDEN, CO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released fuel economy figures for the 2013-MY Chevrolet Spark on its Fueleconomy.gov website. According to the EPA, the Spark equipped with a four-cylinder 1.2L engine and the automatic four-speed transmission gets 28 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, for a figure of 32 mpg combined.

The Spark equipped with a manual transmission and a five-speed transmission gets 32 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, for a figure of 34 mpg combined.

According to General Motors, the engine can deliver an estimated 85 horsepower (63 kW), and the powertrain uses technologies such as dual continuous variable cam phasing, low-friction engine oil, and an electronically controlled thermostat.
