DALLAS – On his way to Washington, D.C. to speak about clean energy, Mayor Dewey Bartlett of Tulsa, Okla., opened the 2011 Green Fleet Conference with the first keynote speech on Monday. His first speaking engagement outside of Oklahoma in his two years as mayor, he spoke to conference attendees about fleet management, compressed natural gas (CNG), and fuel efficiency.
The 39th mayor of Tulsa and President of Keener Oil and Gas Company, Mayor Bartlett, spoke about the City’s first sustainability plan and the hire of the first director of sustainability for the City. Tulsa is focusing on “smart approach to using alternative energy,” and utilized CST Services to conduct a fleet analysis. Through the analysis, the City realized it was experiencing fleet creep – a common phenomenon in today’s fleets.
