2009 100 Best Winners Announced

TORRANCE, CA – The award ceremony took place at the 2009 Government Fleet Expo & Conference, held June 8-10 in Denver, Colo., with Hillsborough County earning the No. 1 spot.

TORRANCE, CA – The results are in! Now two-time winner Hillsborough County, Fla., took home the award for the No. 1 Fleet. The award ceremony took place at the 2009 Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), held June 8-10 in Denver, Colo. Award sponsors include Invers Mobility Solutions, National Joint Powers Alliance, Government Fleet Magazine and the 100 Best Fleets in North America program.

"I believe that as an organization, Hillsborough County Fleet Management has continued to demonstrate leadership," said Sharon Subadan, CAFM, CPFP, director of fleet management for Hillsborough County. "The economic and fiscal challenges facing our local municipalities have presented fleets with new and unique opportunities to be creative and effective. We have once again made strides in meeting this challenge and will continue to do so. We are humbled yet pleased to be recognized for the second consecutive year."

The 100 Best Fleets award program recognizes and rewards peak performing public sector fleet operations in North America. The program also identifies and encourages ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the fleet industry. The purposes of the 100 Best Fleets program are outlined below:

  • Identify outstanding operations for others to emulate.

  • Provide recognition within the larger organization and the community that the winning fleets serve.

  • Promote pride in the industry and provide recognition within the national fleet community.

  • Promote ever-increasing levels of productivity and operational effectiveness.

  • Encourage more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice.
