2003 Taurus & Sable Qualify as ULEVs
Ford Motor Co. announced the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable qualify as Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEV) under California rules.
Ford Motor Co. announced the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable qualify as Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEV) under California rules.
The gasoline-fueled 2003-MY 3.0L 2V and 4V Taurus/Sable vehicles now in production are 50 states certified to the Interim Tier 2 Bin 8 emissions standards and are ULEV qualified under the California Cleanest Vehicle Rule. In addition, these cars are certified to the NLEV LEV and Clean Fuel Fleet LEV emission standards.
The certifications became possible after a change in the catalyst effective Oct. 14, 2002. Taurus/Sable vehicles produced prior to this date are LEV certified.
