Celebrated globally on March 8, International Women’s Day recognizes the social economic, cultural, and political achievements of women — while also voicing a call to action to accelerate gender balance.

International Women’s Day (IWD) belongs to everyone, everywhere. Together we can forge a more gender-equal world and industry while celebrating women’s achievements, increasing visibility, and addressing inequality.

Today, Enterprise Fleet Management is pleased to highlight a few inspiring women who are passionate about their careers and are paving the way for other women within the industry. Reflecting on the IWD 2023 theme of #EmbraceEquity, here’s what they have to say.

Angie Lauer

Vice President of New Vehicle Acquisition, Enterprise Fleet Management

  • Years working within the industry: 24

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I enjoy working with people. We have 250 colleagues on our team (and growing) and yet it still feels intimate, as we prioritize collaboration and connectivity to support Enterprise Fleet Management’s goals as well as the individual professional goals of team members. I am proud to share that we have had 14 promotions into various leadership roles specifically from new vehicle acquisition within the last year, six of which are women leaders. As a team, we are achieving new milestones for the business, with a recent highlight that includes a three-month record of vehicle orders and deliveries, despite ongoing supply chain challenges.

I #EmbraceEquity for my colleagues who work hard to create an inclusive and equitable work environment by being an active member of the Enterprise Holdings DE&I council from an executive level while also developing mentoring opportunities within my department. As a working mother of three, I’m passionate about supporting women to help them achieve their goals, whether personal or professional,” says Lauer.

Assistant Vice President of Credit, Collections, and Contracts, Enterprise Fleet Management

What keeps you committed to working within fleet management and the automotive industry?

“The constant changes! Many aspects of my job have changed multiple times, so it feels like I’ve had six different careers within my 22 years; without having to change professions or companies, which I love.

I #EmbraceEquity with supporting opportunities for women’s empowerment by sharing my passion for my profession and the industry. As a Black woman in a senior leadership role at Enterprise Fleet Management, I know that representation matters. I’m an active member of our Corporate Employee Resource Group, Celebrate Diversity – An African American Experience, and have been able to connect with other women through mentorship opportunities, provide advice and simply be a resource to listen and answer questions. I am the oldest of four girls in my family and truly enjoy helping women that are working hard to achieve their goals, it’s fulfilling both personally and professionally,” says Price.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I’ve been working within automotive and fleet management for 38 years and am just as passionate today as when I first started my career. At the time, there were very few women in leadership roles in the industry. In conjunction with providing exceptional customer service to our clients, I get great joy in creating career opportunities for others and supporting fellow women within the organization, not just my department.

I #EmbraceEquity by celebrating women forging change through my involvement in the National Service Department’s Ms. Fixit Group. This group is comprised of women working within the technical automotive field. Connecting with these women provides a great ongoing opportunity to share successes and challenges, as women can still be considered with having less technical knowledge than male counterparts” says Schremp.

What keeps you committed to working within fleet management and the automotive industry?

“The ability to continue to grow professionally excites me. When I first began my career, there were few women in senior management roles to look up to and aspire to become. Today, some of the top executives are women leading what was considered a predominately male-based industry.

“I #EmbraceEquity for my colleagues by giving women a seat at the table and fostering an environment that welcomes new ideas. I want my colleagues to know that I am open to listening to and valuing their business opinions, even if they may be different from mine. I also try and make every effort to connect women that are newly hired with tenured colleagues, so they are welcomed and can also grow their professional networks,” says Brinkmann.

Equality is the goal, and equity is the means to get there that will help drive success for all at Enterprise Fleet Management.

Commitment Continues

Enterprise Fleet Management is an affiliate of Enterprise Holdings, which is guided by CEO Chrissy Taylor along with women at all levels of the organization.

“These women truly need no introduction; it is an honor to call them colleagues and I am grateful that they continuously choose to invest their talents in our industry and organization,” says Brice Adamson, president of Enterprise Fleet Management.
