Hyundai’s 2020 Ioniq will feature an upgraded battery, an increased driving range, better horsepower, and will be available at a starting price of $33,045.

Pricing for the Ioniq will start at $33,045 for the SE model and is $38,615 for the limited model, said Hyundai. Mentioned pricing doesn’t include $955 freight charges.

Notable enhancements for the 2020 Ioniq include the increased driving ranger from 124 miles to 170 miles, as well as the battery pack’s capacity increasing from 28 kWh to 38.3 kWh, according to Hyundai. The horsepower increased to 134 for the latest, up from the previous 118 hp. Available torque is at 218 lb.-ft.

The Ioniq’s on-board charger also increased from 6.6 kW to 7.2 kW, and, when using a 100-kW fast-charging station, the new battery can reach 80% charge in as little as 54 minutes, Hyundai said.

Other new enhancements include a 10.25-inch widescreen Navigation system, and several safety features such as forward collision avoidance-assist with pedestrian detection added with SmartSense; lane keeping assist; driver attention warning; high beam assist.

The upgraded Ioniq Electric features Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car system, which uses embedded telematics to allow drivers to remote start their vehicle and control air conditioning using the MyHyundai smartphone app.
