2019 Ram 1500 Recalled for Rear Driveshaft

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling an estimated 10,160 2018-2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks for a driveshaft issue. Specifically, the rear driveshaft may have an incomplete weld fusion between the tube and tube yoke.

In the event the rear driveshaft fractures it could detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard. The situation could also result in a loss of drive power. Either scenario increases the likelihood of a collision.

To fix the problem, FCA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear driveshaft, at no cost to owners.

The recall begins June 15. Owners can reach FCA US customer service at (800) 853-1403. The FCA US recall reference number is V48.
