Hyundai's Nexo and Tucson hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles have accumulated 7.5 million miles of driving time, which equates to the cumulative distance of circumnavigating the Earth's surface more than 300 times, Hyundai announced on Earth Day.

Circling the Earth would take 24,901 miles at its widest circumference. Hyundai no longer offers the hydrogen-powered Tucson, which was available on a retail lease in recent years.

"Celebrating Earth Day 2019, we couldn't be more proud of our Nexo and former Tucson Fuel Cell's direct impact in reducing harmful greenhouse emissions in our planet,” said Michael O'Brien, Hyundai Motor America's vice president of product, corporate, and digital planning. "As our hydrogen refueling infrastructure continues to grow in California and into the northeastern U.S., we eagerly anticipate the exponential reduction in emissions it will bring, resulting in a cleaner atmosphere for everyone."

Hyundai has been offering its Nexo Blue model on a limited basis this year. The vehicle has an estimated range of 380 miles, while the Nexo Limited trim model has a range of 354 miles.
