Ford Motor Co. is recalling an estimated 63 2019 Ford EcoSport vehicles because the front seat frames may have been improperly welded, resulting in a loose seat back.

In the event of a collision, a loose seat back can increase the likelihood of injury.

To fix the problem, Ford notified owners on Feb. 15, and dealers will replace the front seat assemblies, at no cost to owners. Presently, the parts are unavailable, so Ford will send a second notice to owners when the parts are ready.

Owners can reach Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 18C08.
