LeasePlan USA has added voice recognition technology to its mobile app that allows fleet drivers access to vehicle and fleet related information in real-time.
The MyLeasePlan Mobile app now includes an intelligent virtual assistant, called Elle, according to LeasePlan. The feature is able to deliver provide immediate fleet-related feedback, and can assist with various driver needs.
"When a driver is faced with a challenge, or needs answers to questions like 'what is my fuel card PIN?' or 'I have a flat tire, where do I go for service?', it may take several minutes or more to locate a fleet manager or call into a phone line," said Felipe Smolka, executive vice president of transformation, who leads on strategy and innovation at LeasePlan USA. "Our goal with Elle has always been to increase independence for drivers, reducing their need to reach out to their fleet managers about day-to-day operational questions. This approach to delivering more autonomy to drivers will lead to higher fleet productivity, and more time for fleet managers to focus on their strategic goals."
As Elle continues to learn more and more, it will transform industry standards for real-time driver engagement. Drivers can easily interact with the virtual assistant through voice or chat. By connecting driver and vehicle data insights, Elle aids both drivers and fleet managers in making the most of their time, improving performance and productivity.
"The newest addition to the app, Elle, empowers drivers with voice recognition technology and artificial intelligence," said Smolka. "This new virtual assistant is 'what’s next' in empowering drivers."
