Mercedes-Benz will offer three Mercedes Pro telematics bundles to 2019 Sprinter buyers, including a package for fleet management companies seeking to integrate the data with their existing fleet management software platforms for clients.

The three bundles will include Optimized Assistance, which will be initially offered at no additional cost; Efficient Fleet Management for fleet managers; and Data Interfaces for Vans for fleet management companies and other third-party suppliers. The second two packages will be offered for $29 per month. Fleets can also add a data plan with wireless partner AT&T to enable connectivity features included in the bundles.

The Optimized Assistance package includes navigation with online map updates, internet connectivity, live traffic plus Car2X, accident and breakdown management, maintenance and repair management, and an emergency call system. The package is offered as complimentary for three years.

The Efficient Fleet Management package adds a digital driver's log, trip management, a theft warning, remote control, fleet communication including Send2Car, vehicle supervision, vehicle location data, and an eco-driving monitor.

The Data Interfaces for Vans allows fleet management companies to integrate the data into third-party software to gain "full control of all relevant vehicle data," according to Mercedes-Benz. The package will also be offered to managers of large fleets with multiple vehicle brands that use third-party telematics software.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled full details and pricing for its new U.S.-built Sprinter van earlier this month, when it opened a new assembly plant near Charleston, S.C., where it will begin building the full-size Sprinter van. Amazon announced it has ordered 20,000 Sprinters for delivery by the end of 2019.
