Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., is recalling an estimated 45,457 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUVs because the LED module for the panoramic sunroof ambient light bar may short circuit and increase the chance of a fire.

To fix the problem, Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will disconnect the power supply for the panoramic sunroof LED module, at no cost to owners, until a future service action can safely reactivate the feature.

This recall began on July 24. Owners can reach Volkswagen customer service at (800) 893-5298. Volkswagen’s number for this recall is 60D1.
