Daimler Financial Services AG will rename itself as Daimler Mobility AG in the first half of 2019 to focus more on financing and insuring mobility services around the globe, the Stuttgart, Germany-based company has announced.

Daimler AG is reorganizing itself into three divisions, which will also include Daimler Truck AG for its trucks and buses and Mercedes-Benz AG for its cars and vans.

"We finance mobility, we insure mobility and with the new name, we are also making a strong statement with respect to the future of mobility. Financial services remain a fundamental element of our business division," said Bodo Uebber, the Daimler AG board member responsible for finance and controlling.

Daimler now counts 23.5 million customers for its mobility services, such as Flixbus, Taxify, Turo, Via, Car2go, Moovel, and Mytaxi.

The new corporate structure should be in place by Jan. 1, 2020.
