Uber Settles in Fatal Autonomous Crash
Uber has halted all testing for self-driving vehicles after what is considered the first fatality by an autonomous car.

Uber reached a settlement with the family of a woman who was killed after being struck by one of the ridesharing service's autonomous vehicles in Tempe, Ariz., reports Fortune.
A self-driving Uber car struck the woman while walking her bicycle across the street. A driver was behind the wheel of the vehicle, but footage of the crash revealed the driver looking down before the accident. The death is considered the first fatality from an autonomous vehicle.
Uber has halted all self-driving vehicle tests following the incident.
With the case reaching settlement, courts have yet to establish a legal precedent for liability in self-driving vehicle fatalities.
