The Lincoln Technical Institute partnered with Bobit and The American Fleet Leasing Association in order to provide two hard-working students with scholarships.
Lincoln Tech was founded back in 1946. Initially, the Institute aided returning WWII veterans in their transition back to the working world. Now, Lincoln provides specialized technical training and hands-on skills in automotive, skilled trades, and healthcare.
In conjunction with the Institute, The Lincoln Foundation for Education is a nonprofit dedicated to making education accessible. Students pursuing a trade at Lincoln or similar institutions may apply to receive scholarships through the Foundation, and the goal is clear: to support the growth, development, and excelling of students preparing for the workforce.
Michael Russon, the Mahwah Campus President, stated “We’re honored to partner with Bobit and the Automotive Fleet Leasing Association. Their generous support empowers our students, providing the tools and opportunities they need to thrive and pursue their professional dreams.”
Two hard-working students received the fruits of their labor in collaboration with the Institute and Foundation.
Each student completed an application, and the winners were selected based upon their short answer responses.
The two deserving individuals both attend the automotive program at the Mahwah Lincoln Tech campus.
The first student, Mateo Bala, described the scholarship as a career catalyst.
“To me, this scholarship means that it’s a sign to keep going. I am grateful for the scholarship. It makes me feel more motivated for the hard work that I do at Lincoln Tech. Winning this scholarship has pushed me to become a better student as well as a better worker.”
The second student, Abraham Sherif, discussed the scholarship’s future benefits.
“Winning this scholarship has helped me. It was an amazing feeling being called into the office. The scholarship will help me move forward and faster and peruse my dreams to become a mechanic faster. I know it’s baby steps until I reach my goal, but the scholarship has sparked a light for me to push harder.”
