BSC America’s Bel Air Auto Auction, one of the longest-running auto auctions in the nation, marks its 75th anniversary April 13-14.

Expecting more than 2,500 vehicles to cross the block and many customers to participate in the festivities, Bel Air is setting the stage for a record event as it celebrates 75 years of service to the industry.

Bel Air held a warm-up celebration the week before, with a kick-off event on April 6 with food trucks on the lot and a live band, providing free lunch and entertainment for auction associates and customers.

BSC America also commemorates Bel Air’s Auto Auction’s 75th year with the unveiling of its all-new website at www.bscamerica.com. With a fresh, streamlined design that puts information at the fingertips of its customers, the new website eases maneuvering between all BSC Auction locations. A dedicated dealer portal allows customers to easily view run lists, consign vehicles, request transportation and access market reports.

The 75th anniversary at Bel Air Auto Auction begins April 13 at 5 p.m. with a celebration and dinner, with entertainment by Onyx, a DC-area cover band that brings a blend of musical styles to the stage. To cap off the evening, fireworks will light up the sky over the auction.

Bidders will return for the main event at 8 a.m. April 14, when the season’s largest consignment of vehicles will run across 10 auction lanes. A special run of classic cars will follow the regular auction.

Giving back to the community is a part of the culture at Bel Air Auto Auction. The giving continues at the anniversary sale itself, with a charity auction planned to kick off the classic car sale. Customers will bid on the rights to the #1 Bidder Badge for Life.  Proceeds will be matched by Bel Air Auto Auction and donated to the American Cancer Society.

“Our 75th anniversary is a landmark event, and we’re planning a celebration to remember,” said R. Charles Nichols, President of BSC America, in a news release.  “Our dedicated customers have played a huge role in our many years of success as one of the longest-running auctions in the country, and we’re looking forward to thanking buyers and sellers alike for their loyalty and support.”

Bel Air Auto Auction is the flagship auction of BSC America, with a weekly sale on Thursday, a bi-weekly GM Financial Closed sale, and a weekly public sale. The auction’s Clayton Station facility handles the sale of rental scratch and dent units, donations, salvage and inop units, along with a monthly Tuesday sale with powersports units, heavy trucks and equipment. In addition to the vast offering of vehicles from fleet companies and financial institution customers, Bel Air Auto Auction has grown to become the largest independent auto auction selling for new and independent dealers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Bel Air Auto Auction is a member of the ServNet Auction group and the National Auto Auction Association.
