Readers Sound Off on Latest State of the Fleet Industry Videos
Macro View is What I Want
I just watched the 76th State of the Fleet Industry video and was very impressed how Mike Antich delivered a macro view of the high uncertainty and unpredictability we will face in 2022. Not only did Mike touch on COVID and the impact to the automotive industry, he provided us a new acronym for our fleet vocabulary—VUCA—which stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity. Mike indicated that all these factors are at play in today’s market, which I totally agree and hope will fade away soon or sometime in 2023. This macro view is what I need to hear so I can accept and pivot my thinking going forward. Thanks for telling me what I need to hear instead of what I want to hear.

More of the Same in 2022
I watched the Jan. 2, 2022 State of the Fleet Industry video and CY-2022 is already starting as crazy as 2021—more of the same for sure. I will keep in touch and attempt to provide some content in the fleet and EV world. I always appreciate that you are up to date on what is happening in the industry. Thanks you as always.
Mike Antich has documented the fleet industry consistently with insight. acumen, and vision. This was the case again with the Jan. 3, 2022, State of the Fleet Industry video entitled, “CY-2022 Starts a New Cycle of Uncertainty.” We all are grateful and wish you best for more in years to come.

Insight to Manage Needs
The Jan. 3, 2022, State of the Fleet Industry video entitled, “CY-2022 Starts a New Cycle of Uncertainty” was another great analysis of the state of the fleet industry, giving us all the insight we need to manage needs and expectations.
Great insight in The State of the Fleet Industry video entitled, “Multiple Parts Shortages Increasing Fleet Downtime.” This is probably the worst nightmare for fleet managers in my 25 years in fleet. Seems like a vicious cycle that shows no end in sight. Hopefully 2022 will offer some answers that will allow fleet managers to again optimize resources and get back to managing the fleet instead of putting band-aids everywhere. I forwarded your article to senior leadership to let them know exactly what we are up against. Keep up the great work.

Always Learn Something New
Watching the State of the Fleet Industry videos, I learn about fleet industry updates on a weekly basis. With the January 3, 2022 video, “CY-2022 Starts a New Cycle of Uncertainty,” I learned something new about COVID and its possible parallels with the Spanish Flu pandemic. It was very interesting. I too have read recently that COVID behavior is like Spanish flu—spot on!

Mike, congratulations on winning the Industry Icon Award! I can’t think of another individual more deserving of this award.
