National average diesel fuel prices were $3.07 per gallon as of March 1, 2021, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. This uptick continues the rising trend we have seen since early November 2020, and has finally eclipsed prices same time last year.

With a $0.10 increase from the previous week, overall national average prices are now up $0.22 per gallon compared to same time last year.

Average national diesel prices have been on the rise since Nov. 2, 2020.

All regions saw some increase week-over-week and are now up compared to prices one year prior. Current average diesel prices by region are:

  • East Coast: $3.09
  • Midwest: $3.04
  • Gulf Coast: $2.84
  • Rocky Mountains: $2.98
  • West Coast: $3.54
