Emkay, Inc. is a privately owned fleet management company that is a one-stop-shop for all fleet solutions. Being the second oldest fleet management company in the industry, it offers decades of experience in customizing the fleet process while providing strategic consulting to its clients.
In 1939, Midway Chevrolet was founded in Chicago by Samuel Katzin and Morton Weiss. Emkay Leasing started within the dealership and was run by Katzin's brother-in-law Michael Braude; the company officially launches in 1946.
In 1973, the company is sold to Indiana Capital Corp, and Steven Benedict is hired as president, Samuel Rae elected Chairman of the Board. In 1973, the company begins providing fuel credit cards to its leasing customers. Gary Tepas was hired as vice president of sales in 1978, then named president in 1980 (he retired in 2008). Daily rental operations were launched in 1989.
