Honda Recalling 2004-2008-MY Acura TSX Vehicles

April 01, 2013

American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 76,253 2004-2008 model-year Acura TSX vehicles originally sold in, or currently registered in, states that use corrosive materials in de-icing operations, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

If a driver walks into these corrosive materials, he or she might track them into the vehicle where they could potentially saturate the vehicle carpeting and make contact with the engine electronic control unit (ECU). This could result in damage that could lead to engine stall.

The states in question are Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin, along with the District of Columbia.

Honda and Acura dealers will inspect the recalled vehicles and replace any damaged ECU, free of charge. All vehicles will have a waterproof cover installed onto the ECU, also free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin on April 11. Owners can reach Acura Client Relations at 1-800-382-2238 and select option 4 or go to
