WASHINGTON - Navistar Inc. is recalling nearly 30,000 MY 2008-2011 International Trucks equipped with an optional jump start stud.

Corrosion at the base of the stud may cause an electrical short between the stud and battery box, which may lead to an electrical short. This creates a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

Though the manufacturer hasn't yet developed a final remedy, an interim action will involve the removal of the jump start stud and the connecting cable.

The recall is expected to begin in early April.
