Audi is showing its Allroad Shooting Brake crossover concept car at the Detroit auto show as it develops a crossover SUV for 2016 for the North American market.

The two-door concept SUV at the North American International Auto Show uses the Audi's E-Tron Quattro hybrid technology. Audi introduced the A-3 E-Tron plug-in hybrid at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. That vehicle is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in 2015.

Audi's Allroad Shooting Brake crossover produces 300 kilowatts of power and provides 123 miles per gallon, an Audi engineering board member said in a release.

"We are offering very concrete glimpses of the near future in this show car," said Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi AG board member for the Technical Development unit.
