As a kid, I definitely imagined myself driving a race car. But building one? That part never came up.
For reasons that are still unclear, I’ve decided to build a Soap Box Derby racer from scratch — and take it all the way to Akron to race in the Soap Box Derby Challenge in August.
And I’m not doing it alone.
My coworker Lauren Fletcher has already thrown down the gauntlet with Team Fletcher — so now it’s officially on. Team Brown vs. Team Fletcher. One of us is going to win the hill.
Over the next several episodes, you’ll see how this all comes together — from the base car arrival and unboxing (that’s next), to design, build, testing, and race day at the Soap Box Derby.
Sponsorships for Team Brown are available at $500 per sponsor, and you can find your logo displayed on the car throughout the event. You could also do both...consider entering your own car, too! Get the details HERE.
What are you waiting for? Check the Corporate Derby Page for more information.
Why We're Racing
And this isn’t just for fun.
This effort supports The Hourglass Foundation and its mission to invest in the talent that will drive the industry's future. So while we’re (I should say I’m) building something a little ridiculous, it’s tied to something that actually matters.
Want your corporate logo on my racer? Wouldn’t that be cool? For sponsorship opportunities, contact me directly at chris.brown@bobit.com.
