The 26-mile rail project will improve mobility, accessibility, and system linkages for North Texas residents.
The one-year contract begins Oct. 1, helping DART achieve fuel price stability needed in the current 20-year financial plan for their 674 CNG buses.
In January 2017, DART was awarded a FTA Mobility on Demand Sandbox grant to pilot test an on-demand microtransit service integrated into DART’s GoPass mobile app.
The expanded service came in response to a project called the “Last Mile” initiated by the City and Western Extrusions, a private sector major employer.
The area is currently served by three DART rail stations, MLK, Jr. Station, Fair Park Station, and Hatcher Station, as well as 10 bus routes.
The app is an all-in-one travel tool that gives customers real-time travel information, mobile ticketing and on-demand services.
This is the first maintenance contract for the company in the U.S.
Will include 10 stations across the alignment, providing new transit opportunities for North Texas residents.
Customers can now book an UberPool shared ride in any of DART's 13 GoLink zones through the DART GoPass® app.
The Silver Line will interface with three DART light rail lines.
