The top three fleet dealers by franchise, based on fleet sales in the 1992 calendar, were honored at the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association and convention in Nashville, TN. Here are some of this year's winners.

For 50 years Automotive Fleet has been producing magazine covers that reflect the issues and topics of the day and many of today's fleet managers' challenges were just as true 50 years ago. It's no surprise that our covers would occasionally reflect a sense of deja vu.

Not too long ago, many rental-car fleets were located within walking distance of the nation's airline terminals. Then space tightened up, and the rental operations moved farther away from the airport hub. To transport their customers from terminal to car, rental companies turned to the shuttle bus. Shuttle buses have become "moving billboards" - important, highly visible symbols of corporate identity. Attendees of the 2012-MY GM Fleet Preview were provided overviews of product, what to expect in the coming months, and had the opportunity to participate in a ride & drive.

The 2011 Ford Fleet Product and Business Conference was held June 21- 23 in Dearborn at the Dearborn Product Development Center and was a chance for fleet managers to see Ford’s latest vehicles and find out what the automaker has planned for the fleet industry.

Automotive Fleet honors the industry's top fleet dealers.

FedEx's subsidiary FedEx Express is replacing 4,000 vehicles in its fleet. The new vehicles consist primarily of BlueTEC clean diesel Sprinter vans, but the company is also adding Navistar eStar all-electric delivery vehicles, Freightliner eCells, and Ford Transit Connect Electric vans.

For 2012, Nissan's Altima Sedan is again available in three models, the 2.5 CVT and 2.5 S CVT featuring a 175-horsepower 2.5L inline four-cylinder, and the 3.5 SR CVT with a standard 270-horsepower 3.5L V-6 engine. The 2012 model-year marked the final year of the fourth-generation Altima that debuted with the 2007-MY.
