SAN DIEGO - Xata Corporation, a leader in fleet optimization software, today announced ComplianceConnect, a new product that enables fleets to seamlessly integrate their existing driver-productivity applications with Xata Turnpike, Xata’s low-cost, easy-to-install EOBR solution. The announcement was made at the CTIA Enterprise and Application Convention, underway now through Oct. 13 in San Diego.

“With ComplianceConnect, fleets are no longer bound by the proprietary restrictions of traditional EOBR solutions,” said Christian Schenk, vice president, product marketing, Xata. “Instead, they can now seamlessly integrate the power of Xata Turnpike with the driver-productivity applications they’re already running on their cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers.”

ComplianceConnect features a two-way mobile application programming interface (API) that enables Xata Turnpike to seamlessly run alongside existing driver productivity applications, automatically collecting a variety of driver and vehicle data, thus providing drivers and fleet managers with a single interface to manage:

  • HOS

  • Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)

  • Speed

  • Idle time

  • Hard braking

  • Routes/GPS

  • Arrival and departure times

  • Engine-fault codes

This integration enables fleets to make the most of their existing investment while taking advantage of the industry’s easiest and most affordable solution for complying with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including the current released technical requirements for 395.16. Expected to go into effect in mid-2012, this remedial directive mandates EOBRs for all carriers with poor hours of service (HOS) compliance status.

“We are excited that companies now have seamless access to Xata’s award-winning compliance solution and Airclic’s leading mobile supply chain software products, in one fully integrated, on-demand solution,” said Mike Lee, CEO, Airclic, a leading provider of mobile supply chain software with more than 300 global customers. “By leveraging the packaged integration between Xata Turnpike and Airclic’s Perform Products, our clients can now dramatically increase the accuracy and efficiency of their fleets, while reducing the costs associated with implementing other EOBR solutions.”

Apacheta’s CEO, Don Grust agrees. “Adding Xata’s ComplianceConnect to our mobile workflow applications gives our customers a highly-affordable DOT compliance solution for accessing driver logs and inspections directly from their mobile device, while streamlining their mobile business processes with our flexible mobile solutions.”

Fleets can use ComplianceConnect to seamlessly integrate Xata Turnpike with Airclic, Apacheta and more than 35 additional MRM, dispatch, routing, proof-of-delivery and other third-party mobile applications.
