Wholesale Values Stable at Start of September
Overall vehicle values last week were stable, as the anticipation for Labor Day kept bidding strong at auctions, according to Black Book’s Sept. 3 Market Insights report.

Subcompact, compact, and full-size cars had the strongest showing last week, as values for the respective segments increased by 0.13%, 0.21%, and 0.19%.

Overall vehicle values last week were stable, as the anticipation for Labor Day kept bidding strong at auctions, according to Black Book’s Sept. 3 Market Insights report.
Overall car segment values were 0.04% higher than they were last week, compared to 0.06% higher the week before. Overall truck values decreased 0.06% last week, compared to a 0.19% decline the week before.
Subcompact, compact, and full-size cars had the strongest showing last week, as values for the respective segments increased by 0.13%, 0.21%, and 0.19%. The luxury car segment and midsize car segment saw the biggest declines to their average wholesale value through the week.
In the truck segment, full-size vans and subcompact crossovers had the best showing. Overall wholesale values for these two segments increased 0.43% and 0.18%, respectively. Small pickups had a difficult week, as values were down 0.39% compared to the week prior.
