Wheels, Inc., a leader in the automotive fleet management and services industry, has been named a finalist for the 2013 American Business Awards (commonly known as the “Stevies”).
Wheels’ Toll Management program made the shortlist in the Transportation segment of the New Product or Service of the Year award category, meaning the company will ultimately win a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie in that group.
“Today toll violations can account for as much as 75% of a fleet’s annual violations volume – that’s more than red light camera violations, parking tickets and speeding camera violations combined,” said Dan Frank, President of Wheels Services. “The Wheels Toll Management solution has proven very successful at helping our clients mitigate – and in some cases virtually eliminate – the financial impact that toll violations have on their fleets, while at the same time alleviating them of a very complex administrative task.”
The Wheels Toll Management program, which covers all major tolling regions in North America, ensures that vehicles managed by the company are equipped to receive the lowest possible toll rates while avoiding violations. The program provides up-to-date tolling equipment and full administrative support for drivers, as well as a reporting and analytics package that offers complete visibility to all toll-related data.
The Toll Management program also relieves drivers of the need to spend time and effort submitting toll receipts for reimbursement, and provides a complimentary support line for any questions related to equipment or tollway usage. If a driver does incur a toll violation, Wheels automatically contests it with the regulatory authority on the client’s behalf, resulting in the dismissal of most violations.
Wheels clients enrolled on the program have seen their hard-cost toll violation expenses decrease by up to 95% through widespread violation avoidance, as well as drastic reductions in the administrative time associated with managing transponders and processing toll violations.
The American Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards, featuring entrants from across the U.S. in all types of businesses – large and small, public and private, for-profit and non-profit. More than 3,200 nominations from organizations in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. Finalists were chosen by more than 140 business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging.
Final judging will take place May 13 through May 24, and American Business Awards winners in the new product and technology segments will be announced during a September 16 gala in San Francisco.
