As commercial fleet customers explore a potential transition to electric vehicles, WEX meets them on their journey and has expanded its DriverDash mobile app to include EV functionality.
“We have heard from our customers that they need an alternative to handling multiple apps, credit lines, invoices, and interfaces in order to charge EVs. This new functionality for mixed fleets signifies a true commercial mixed fleet experience – replacing a card on file with integrated systems and reporting, access to quality chargers, fraud controls, and level three transaction insights. Our hope is WEX’s consolidated solutions for mixed fleets will help fleet managers feel more confident about managing billing, payments, discounts, and reporting as they incorporate EVs into their fleets,” said Jay Collins, SVP and GM of EV and Mobility, WEX.
WEX's Closed-Loop Network Powers DriverDash for Secure EV Charging Everywhere
DriverDash uses WEX's exclusive closed-loop payments network, enhancing the security of every transaction and transmitting essential data to fleet managers.
This includes charging behavior, driver identification information, vehicle mileage, and other telematic details.
Accepted at ChargePoint branded EV chargers, DriverDash also extends its compatibility to ChargePoint's roaming partner brands, which include EVConnect, EVGo, FLO, and Shell Recharge.
WEX Equips Fleet Managers to Integrate EVs with DriverDash
Serving over 600,000 commercial fleet customers globally and managing more than 19 million vehicles worldwide as of Q3 2023, WEX is streamlining its products and networks to cater to ICE, EV, and hybrid fleets.
The latest announcement empowers fleet managers to thoughtfully and confidently incorporate one or two EVs into their fleet, knowing they can effectively handle a mixed fleet. DriverDash is accessible through the Google and Apple app stores.
Beyond DriverDash, charging sessions can be initiated using WEX-issued physical radio frequency identification cards, providing access to WEX's integrated backend reporting for both fuel types through a unified portal.
