Volvo's Care subscription service will cost $600 per month and arrive next year as a pairing with the release of 2019 XC40 when the compact SUV hits showrooms in the early spring.
The Care by Volvo subscription service will first be made available on the XC40 for $600 per month, which will initially be available with Volvo’s T5 four-cylinder Drive-E powertrain and all-wheel drive. The two available XC40 T5 models will include the XC40 T5 AWD Momentum, and the sportier XC40 T5 AWD R-Design.
Care by Volvo, which has been rolled out in Europe, would be offered alongside traditional purchase and leasing options. It will allow customers to choose a car online and make all-inclusive, monthly payments that cover insurance, service, and maintenance, according to the automaker.
Under Care by Volvo, there will be an annual 15,000-mile allowance that looks after tire and wheel damage protection, wear-and-tear replacements including wipers and brakes, and all factory-scheduled maintenance, Volvo said in a release. Further still, the service will be covered under a premium personal insurance policy issued by Liberty Mutual Insurance.
The T5 Momentum trim will start at $35,200 and a 36 month lease will start at $325/month with a $3,000 down payment, the automaker revealed. Later in 2018, a T4 front-wheel drive configuration will be introduced starting at $33,200.
Additional powertrain options for the XC40, including hybridized and pure electric propulsion systems, will be added later, according to the automaker.
