Volvo Cars introduced a pair of luxury sedans at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that the automaker says will help it sell 100,000 cars a year in the U.S.
The Volvo S60 Inscription and S60 Cross Country sedans are the first of seven new vehicles Volvo plans to introduce in the U.S. by 2018. Volvo has been revamping its lineup with new modular chassis technology and its Drive-E engines.
The 2016 S60 Inscription, which will be built in Volvo's plant in Chengdu, China, offers 3.4 inches of additional rear seat legroom. The sedan will also get 19-inch wheels, Linear Walnut trim, silk metal detailing, and additional interior accent lighting.
The S60 Cross Country is a four-door version of another vehicle Volvo introduced in Detroit — the five-door V60 Cross Country luxury vehicle. The sedan model increases ride height by 2.5 inches, reports Autoblog.
Volvo also showed off the XC90 R-Design, a performance variant of its redesigned 2015 XC90 luxury SUV, in Detroit. Volvo had previously announced this model.
The new S60 sedan models are expected to arrive at Volvo dealerships this summer.
