Volvo CEO Named Keynote Speaker for LA Auto Show

LOS ANGELES - Stefan Jacoby, president and chief executive officer of Volvo Car Corp., will kick off the Los Angeles Auto Show by delivering the Motor Press Guild (MPG) keynote address during press days on the morning of Nov. 17. The L.A. Auto Show will be open to the public from Nov. 19-28.
Last year, Bob Lutz, then-vice chairman of General Motors, delivered the keynote address.
Jacoby was elected president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars in August 2010. Prior to that, he spent most of his professional career at Volkswagen, where he held several senior positions - the latest as of October 2007 serving as the president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen Group of America.
Jacoby started his career at Volkswagen and from January 1995 to September 1997, managed the General Office of the chairman of the board of management. From there, as a member of top management, he was responsible for the Asia-Pacific Region and was instrumental in the expansion of the two Volkswagen joint ventures in China. Prior to his last position at Volkswagen, from October 2001 to February 2004, Jacoby was president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors Europe.
