Rita Harris has been promoted to senior manager, global fleet operations at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston, Mass. She previously took on the role as fleet manager for more than four years at Vertex.

Harris worked for Sanofi-Aventis through different mergers for 21 years before moving to her current position at Vertex about two and a half years ago.

Harris also worked as a quality assurance non-commissioned officer for the U.S. Air Force.
