Tri-State Auto Auction-Fargo Adds Lanes and Acreage

Tri-State Auto Auction, Fargo, recently completed a remodeling project, adding two auction lanes to the facility, expanded service areas, a new snack bar and a remodeled lobby.

Tri-State Auto Auction, Fargo, recently completed a remodeling project, adding two auction lanes to the facility, expanded service areas, a new snack bar and a remodeled lobby. The addition connected the auction building with Tri-State's sister company DSI Automotive Products building, creating one of the most unique auction configurations in the industry.

Tri-State, Fargo, now has five lanes of auction selling, in addition to the salvage sale auditorium that is used for video sales. The new auction lanes are wired and configured for Internet selling and video and audio presentations. Lane 5 is devoted exclusively to the auction’s bi-weekly GM factory sale, accessible on the Internet to remote buyers via the OnLine Ringman system. The fifth lane is adjacent to new offices, a dealer lounge and mechanical room, as well as a TSAA’s customer service center. As part of the lane expansion a new snack bar was added at the auction, and lobby areas were enlarged and remodeled.

The auction also recently announced the acquisition of 13 acres after nearly three years of negotiations. According to President and CEO Dave Zabel, the additional property nearly doubles the size of the facility. When the new lot is paved, the auction will have parking and storage for more than 2,000 vehicles, in addition to expanded customer and salvage parking.

“This remodeling and expansion project has been in the planning stages for a long time, and we’re thrilled with the results,” said Zabel. “Sale day is more efficient, more productive and, in the end produces better results for buyers and sellers with the more comfortable space and additional auction lanes. And with the increases we’ve seen in every segment of our weekly consignment, we have the room to spread out, knowing that we’ll be able to accommodate continued growth.”
