Transportation.com, the Internet transportation marketplace providing broad-based products, services and information for shippers and carriers, has signed partnership agreements with Volvo Trucks North America and Volvo Commercial Finance LLC The Americas. Transportation.com will provide comprehensive services such as online truck configurations and quoting, customized financial services, and roadside assistance. The services aim to benefit the small- to mid-sized carriers and private fleet operators who represent more than 60 percent of the $441 billion transportation in the United States. As part of the partnership, Transportation.com members gain access to Volvo’s online truck configuration program. The program assists new truck customers as they spec their own truck and provides a suggested retail price and a lead to the nearest dealer. Volvo Trucks will also include a free single-year subscription to Transportation.com’s load-matching services as part of its Most Valuable Package (MVP) Program. Volvo’s MVP Program includes a free laptop computer with software and free Internet access, allowing customers to connect to Transportation.com’s load-matching services.
