TOKYO, JAPAN — Toyota Motor Corp. will begin using a new cost-efficient and smaller hybrid system in its vehicles beginning in 2008.
TOKYO, JAPAN — Toyota Motor Corp. will begin using a new cost-efficient and smaller hybrid system in its vehicles beginning in 2008, according to the Asahi Daily and Reuters. Toyota will also begin to make key components for gasoline-electric hybrid systems in the United States. The report added that Toyota would double the annual output capacity of hybrid systems from about 300,000, reducing the manufacturing cost difference between such systems and gasoline engines.
