ALISO VIEJO, CA - Telogis, Inc.(www.telogis.com), the platform for location intelligence, announces the new release of Telogis Route, the Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for multi-vehicle optimization and planning. Telogis Route now bundles routing and dispatching functionality from Telogis GeoBase and Telogis Fleet into a single application for strategic and dynamic planning.

"Routing is a critical piece of the mobility 'triple-play'"

Telogis Route combines routing and scheduling capabilities from Telogis products into a single offering and incorporates relevant constraints and cost factors to optimize fleet schedules. Business rules such as delivery windows, driver skill set and specialty vehicle equipment are modeled along with costing factors such as fuel economy, driver rate and job revenue to calculate optimal schedules. By automating the process through a sophisticated modeling program, companies can generate operational savings of greater than 20 percent over manual route planning.

Telogis Route leverages the power of Telogis GeoBase, the leading enterprise geospatial platform. This provides it with detailed mapping data, providing essential information for accurate route planning. As a result, Telogis Route supports commercial vehicle restrictions such as bridge height and weight, historic and real-time traffic and custom routing rules such as avoiding left-hand turns.

As a cloud-based solution, Telogis Route requires no special hardware and has lower upfront costs than legacy client-server solutions, resulting in a more rapid return on investment. The SaaS model also enables large, distributed companies to deploy the solution across a number of locations.

Telogis Route is built on the same platform as Telogis Mobile and Telogis Fleet - the only common enterprise mobility platform in the market. This allows companies to plan a workday in Telogis Route, transmit the plan to Telogis Mobile and track progress in Telogis Fleet.

"Routing is a critical piece of the mobility 'triple-play'," said Newth Morris, president of Telogis' Telogis Route Division. "Fleet scheduling, mobile communications and telematics are the three critical elements of a comprehensive fleet management solution. Together, they enable companies to dramatically streamline their operations, reducing expenditure while simultaneously improving efficiency and customer satisfaction. With these new enhancements, Telogis Route continues Telogis' leadership in this field."
