Teletouch Signs Dealer Agreement for Guidepoint GPS Fleet Solution
TYLER, TEXAS – Teletouch Communications, Inc., a wireless messaging company, and GPSi, LLC announced the signing of a comprehensive dealer agreement aimed at providing cost-effective fleet-management solutions for small- to mid-sized business and government vehicle fleets.
TYLER, TEXAS – Teletouch Communications, Inc., a wireless messaging company, and GPSi, LLC announced the signing of a comprehensive dealer agreement aimed at providing cost-effective fleet-management solutions for small- to mid-sized business and government vehicle fleets. Pontiac, Mich.-based GPSi, which operates the Guidepoint telematics system, is providing Tele-touch with a private-label fleet management solution to be sold under the Vtrax: Powered by Guidepoint brand. Teletouch recently began offering the new fleet solution to its two-way radio systems commercial and government customers in Texas, and will begin offering VTrax products throughout the country later this month. The new dealer agreement expands on Teletouch's current contractual relationship with GPSi to provide response center and help-desk services for Guidepoint users in the U.S. and Canada. Guidepoint is a comprehensive technology and service solution for stolen vehicle recovery, driver safety/convenience, and fleet management that integrates GPS satellites, wireless technology, the Web, and 24/7 call centers in the U.S. and Mexico. Teletouch customers can reach the new fleet services group by calling toll-free, (888) GPS-FIND. The VTrax: Powered by Guidepoint fleet solution is targeted to small and mid-size enterprises with fleets of 2-to-200 vehicles. Designed with a "less is more" philosophy, VTrax offers ignition on/off and history reporting, stop reporting, and location-based tracking. Guidepoint's fully digital system operates on the Cingular GSM/GPRS/Edge nationwide network. Plus, Guidepoint's fleet solution offers a number of special features, including an optional in-vehicle panic button, with 24/7 response center assistance and stolen vehicle recovery, and emergency support.
