ISELIN, NJ – Chuck Scharmen, director of fleet services, Tamaroff Fleet Group, has been elected by the NAFA membership to fill the position of affiliate trustee. The position gives Scharmen a seat, and a vote, on the 11-member NAFA Board of Trustees, comprised of 10 fleet managers who direct all of the Association’s activities and resources. “I am honored to have been nominated and elected to this prestigious position,” Scharmen said. “This position is the only one in NAFA in which an Affiliate has a vote and I am humbled that the Nominating Committee regarded me as a viable candidate to have that responsibility – and that the NAFA members have elected me to uphold that responsibility.” Scharmen has been active in NAFA for more than 20 years, both at the local chapter level and nationally. He served nationally on the Affiliates Committee, FMI Arrangements Committee, Editorial Committee, and Membership Committee. He is still active in the Michigan Chapter. “I view my role as a conduit – a direct link – between all Affiliates and the NAFA leadership,” Scharmen said. “Any Affiliate who has a question, comment, or concern about NAFA should feel free to contact me and be assured that their voice will be heard at the highest levels of NAFA.” The 2005 Annual Business Meeting marks the end of the term of Affiliate Trustee for Kathi Croze, national manager Government Fleet Accounts, The CEI Group. The entire NAFA Board of Trustees, as well as the NAFA Staff and Board of Governors thanks Croze for her dedication and hard work. “It has been quite an honor to serve the Affiliates by being their voice and vote on the Board of Trustees for the past two years,” Croze said. “I truly believe we get out of an organization what we put into it and that every member and affiliate can help make NAFA the organization that will provide them the tools they need to be better at their profession. I want to thank Lou Mene and his committee for their support during the past two years and I have every confidence that Deb Watkins will lead the Affiliates committee to great successes.”
