SAN FRANCISCO --- The city of San Francisco has successfully moved all its diesel-powered vehicles over to biodiesel, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Every city vehicle that once ran on diesel fuel --- including fire engines, ambulances, street sweepers and buses --- now runs on biodiesel. Back in May 2006, Mayor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order to require that the city's 1,500 diesel vehicles convert over to biodiesel by the end of 2007. The use of biodiesel reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
