MIAMI– Black Enterprise (BE) Magazine has named Ryder System, Inc. one of the “40 Best Companies for Diversity” in its third annual survey of corporate diversity. Ryder is the only transportation and supply chain industry company listed in the publication’s 2007 survey.

“We are recognizing Ryder’s commitment to developing and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce,” said BE Careers and Lifestyle Editor Sonia Alleyne. “Ryder’s diversity mission to ‘create a supportive environment which values individual differences’ is reflected all the way into the higher echelons of management.”

The 2007 Black Enterprise “40 Best Companies for Diversity” was determined by conducting a comprehensive outreach effort to the CEOs and diversity executives of the top-grossing 1,000 publicly traded companies and the 50 leading global companies with significant U.S. operations. BE’s corporate diversity survey focused primarily on activities related to the participation of African Americans and other ethnic minority groups in four key areas: supplier diversity, senior management, board involvement, and employee base.
