MESA, AZ – Pete Scarafiotti, fleet director for the City of Mesa, Ariz., was presented with the Fleet Manager of the Year award by the Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association (RMFMA) during their annual national conference on Sept. 28.

The association’s national board of directors based the presentation on the City of Mesa’s achievement of the prestigious ASE Blue Seal of Excellence, along with a number of other innovations Scarafiotti introduced to the City of Mesa Fleet Department during the past year.

RMFMA, an incorporated nonprofit educational association, was formed in 1976 to enhance the practice of fleet management for managers and personnel of both private and public sector fleet organizations. The association has chapters in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada, with more than 850 individual members representing fleets from across the U.S. and Canada.

“I’m grateful to the Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association for acknowledging the quality of the City’s Fleet program,” Scarafiotti said. “I’m also grateful to the employees of our department for their dedication to our customers. It remains our primary goal to reduce cost and provide quality service 24 hours a day.”
