Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will offer two trim models of its 2019 Ram 1500 Classic exclusively to fleet buyers, including a truck that's configured for law enforcement fleets, and a range of fleet-only options on the Tradesman model.

After introducing its new-generation 2019 Ram 1500 earlier this year, FCA announced it would sell the existing pickup as the Ram 1500 Classic primarily for commercial and entry buyers.

"The Ram 1500 Classic is a perfect stable mate for our all-new Ram 1500," said Mark Spencer, FCA Fleet's product group manager. "A combination of work-friendly features, decades of proven dependability, and an entry-level price point continue to drive demand for the Ram 1500 Classic among fleets and small businesses. This is a truck designed to deliver maximum value to commercial customers."

While the 2019 Ram 1500 is available in six trims – Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited – the Ram 1500 Classic offers four trims – Tradesman, Express, Big Horn/SLT, and SSV (Special Services Vehicle).

While Big Horn will be sold into the retail channel, the similar SLT will be sold to commercial buyers. It will offer an under-rail bed liner.

The Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman will add floor carpet, a cloth bench seat, daytime running lights, ParkSense rear parking assist, power black trailer tow mirrors, rear window defroster, remote keyless entry with All-Secure, the Remote Start & Security Alarm Group package, SiriusXM satellite radio, and the under-rail bed liner.

The SSV will be offered only to police fleets and will add floor carpet, daytime running lights, power black trailer tow mirrors, the Protection Group package, rear window defroster, Remote Start & Security Alarm Group package, and SiriusXM satellite radio. It will delete the Class 4 hitch.

The 2019 Ram 1500 will offer a few fleet options, including pickup bed lighting on Tradesman and Big Horn, as well as rear automatic braking (ParkSense Front and Rear with Stop) on Tradesman.

The Ram 1500 Classic will carry over existing engines, including the 3.6L Pentastar V-6, 5.7L Hemi V-8, and 3.0L V-6 EcoDiesel at a later date.
