SPARKS, MD — PHH Arval, a subsidiary of PHH Corp., announced on May 19 that it will join several insurance carrier companies in partnering with Arbitration Forums, Inc., a provider of intercompany arbitration services, to pilot E-Subro Hub, an electronic claims clearinghouse that will significantly speed up the subrogation process for automotive claims while reducing costs. The 90-day pilot begins in May 2005. PHH will be the only self-insured company to participate in the pilot; all other participants are insurance companies. E-Subro Hub's Web-based subrogation technology will enable users to send and receive subrogation demands electronically, attach supporting documents (estimates, bills, photos, police reports, etc), automatically route demands to file handlers, negotiate online, and view and download online reports. PHH's Vehicle Accident Services division is one of the largest collision management providers in North America. PHH's comprehensive program helps companies manage driver safety and vehicle accidents. When a fleet driver is in an accident and another party is at fault, PHH's subrogation team pursues cost recovery for that client. In 2004, PHH recovered over $27 million for corporate clients through subrogation of vehicle collision claims.
