OSHKOSH, WI — Oshkosh Truck Corp. towing equipment subsidiary, JerrDan Corp. has introduced a new concept in towing and recovery equipment, the Side-Loading Vehicle Retriever (SLVR). The SLVR operator remotely controls recovery operations and never needs to leave the cab. The SLVR was created for towing and recovery operations on narrow, congested city streets and in one-way traffic. It incorporates a patent-pending boom and mast assembly and lift arms, which allow pick up on both sides of the retriever and “lifts and slides” the recovered vehicle onto the retriever’s platform. JerrDan Corp. and partner Samson Lift invested significant capital and resources over the past two years in research, engineering, and testing to develop the SLVR.
