COLUMBUS, OHIO — The Ohio Vehicle Leasing Association (OVLA) will hold its 49th annual convention at the Holiday Inn-West, I-270/Roberts Rd. Interchange, on May 5.

The program includes:
8:30 a.m. – Registration & Continental Breakfast, sponsored by Manheim’s Ohio Auto Auction.
9:00 a.m. – Annual Meeting, Matthew Rawlings, OVLA president presiding.
Election of 2005-06 Board of Directors.
Membership Recruitment.
9:20 a.m. – Is Your Leasing Dealer License In Jeopardy?
Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has shown increasing interest in policing activities of motor vehicle leasing dealers and has made recommendations to the Ohio Motor Vehicle Dealers Board resulting in the revocation of licenses. For the first time, the president of the board will speak at an OVLA meeting. The chief of the dealer licensing section will talk about the role his section plays in the process for license suspension and/or revocation.

11:00 a.m. - OVLA first to explain new federal bankruptcy law.
On April 21, President Bush signed the Bankruptcy Reform Act, the most significant changes to federal bankruptcy law since 1978. This first in the nation look at this law impacting the financial industry, new, and used dealers as well as lessors will be presented by a Columbus attorney specializing in area of creditor’s rights and bankruptcy.

1:00 p.m. – The Answers To The Question Of Dealers Selling Insurance.
Two OVLA Members will discuss and explain this issue as well as others and the products their companies offer.

1:30 p.m. – Another Profit Center for Lessors.
This session will introduce equipment leasing to those firms not currently involved. The session will be presented by an OVLA member executive, Matthew Bova, CFC.
