HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – Odyne Corp., a developer of plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle technology for trucks and buses, presented its plug-in hybrid propulsion technology option to fleet managers at alternative energy forums in California and New York. At a conference panel on “Advanced Technologies and Retrofit/Repower Technologies” in Riverside, Calif., CEO Roger Slotkin highlighted the advantages of Odyne’s plug-in hybrid powertrain and battery management systems. At the invitation of the Western Riverside Council of Governments, Slotkin addressed an audience comprised of Southern California’s municipal fleet managers, air quality management staff, and top government officials at the Western Riverside Clean Cities Coalition’s 8th Annual “Advancing the Choice” event held Feb. 8. Slotkin presented Odyne Corp’s solution for fleet managers faced with meeting strict air-quality standards for clean emissions vehicles, including the use of CNG plug-in hybrids for medium- and heavy-duty truck and transit platforms, as well as liquefied natural gas applications. On Jan. 31, Slotkin addressed a similar New York audience of key municipal fleet decision makers, along with equipment suppliers, at a hybrid technology seminar held in conjunction with strategic partner Nassau Suffolk Truck Sales. The high-level briefing provided an overview of the Odyne vehicles to date and their application in the transportation and sanitation markets.
