Nov. 13 Report: Gasoline Averages $2.22 a Gallon

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The U.S. average price for regular gasoline tumbled another 17.6 cents to reach $2.224 per gallon, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported Nov. 13.

Over the previous eight weeks, the U.S. average had plummeted $1.611, dropping $1.89 from the all-time high set on July 7. As a result, the price was 88.7 cents below the price a year ago.

The average price on the East Coast slumped 17.7 cents to $2.272 per gallon. Prices sank below $2.10 in both the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions, the EIA reported.

In the Midwest, the price slid 17.7 cents to $2.06 a gallon, the lowest average price among the regions. On the Gulf Coast, the price fell 13.2 cents to $2.096 per gallon. The price in the Rocky Mountains dropped the most of any region, plunging 22.5 cents to $2.257 per gallon.

The price on the West Coast fell for the 20th straight week, dropping 20.6 cents to reach $2.534 per gallon. The price in California fell 22.8 cents, settling at $2.555 per gallon.
