Several media outlets Wednesday morning reported operations at the Port of Baltimore have been shut down due to a strike by members of the International Longshoremen’s Association.
According to the Journal of Commerce, this has brought to a standstill trucks going in and out of terminals, along with other cargo operations.
The strike is due to members rejecting a local contract that is a supplement to a six-year national master agreement negotiated earlier between the union and the United States Maritime Alliance.
